BPM Quotes of the Week - Nov. 8

"Execution trumps strategy."
- Howard Schultz, CEO, Starbucks

The "BPM Quotes of the Week" was started by Adam Deane. We at BPM.com always found it to be an excellent resource in keeping up with the lightning-fast changes and shifts in the BPM industry.

Deane stopped covering Quotes of the Week in 2012, so this is our effort to provide a similar resource. At BPM.com we will try to be comprehensive in our coverage, but if you feel we have missed anything for a particular week, please feel free to add it in the comments below. Also, if you have a BPM quote you would like us to consider for the coming week, please use the Hashtag #bpmqow on Twitter to make sure we see it.

This will now be a weekly feature on BPM.com. The "BPM Quotes of the Week" for the week ending Nov. 8 are as follows:

"Automation removes us from awareness of what is going on; it reduces not only skill, but knowledge and expertise as well."
-Keith Swenson

"But if data is the raw material – the crude oil – then context is what you apply to refine that raw material, to reduce it down to something truly useful. What better context to apply to this raw material than your business process context."
-Scott Francis

"The opportunities to improve company performance through digital transformation are clear, but the execution is difficult. The only wrong move is not to make any move at all."
- Baseline Mag
