Defense Acquisition University Selects Appian

VIENNA, Va.— June 16, 2008— Appian, an innovative global provider of business process management (BPM) technology, announced today that the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) has selected Appian Enterprise as the platform for its new Micro-Purchase Management System. The BPM-based solution simplifies, automates, and manages the end-to-end process of purchase and training requisitions. By leveraging Appian Enterprise, the DAU can now provide a web-based environment to enforce process policies, increase efficiency and reliability, and gain visibility into process performance data.
The DAU is the corporate university for acquisition education for the Department of Defense (DoD). It utilizes advanced technologies and teaching methods to create a 21st Century learning environment for the DoD's Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L) community. The AT&L workforce currently consists of over 126,000 Department of Army, Department of Navy, Department of Air Force and Defense agency professionals serving in 13 acquisition, technology, and logistics career fields.
