Created in the year 2000 with the purpose of commercially developing the Central America region by rendering services of International Data Center, data and voice transmission, basic telephone and long distance, wholesale, and Internet, Telecarrier is a leading company in the telecommunications industry within the LATAM region.

It has a fiber optic network infrastructure with high capillarity levels, fully integrated with IP technology, capable of transmitting data, voice and video, assuring its customers a fast, reliable, redundant, and scalable service.

As a consequence of both the fast growth experienced by the industry and market consolidation, in November 2009 Telecarrier merged with the telecommunications group Medcom Holdings, INC, owners of Cable Onda, S.A.. This was an unprecedented merger in the market which made Telecarrier the company with the highest potential in the region.

Grupo Hospitalar Conceição, Brazil

Grupo Hospitalar Conceição (GHC) is the largest hospital complex in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and responsible for the admission of 59,900 people, 2.2 million appointments, and 36,100 annual surgeries. The group comprises four hospital units, twelve health clinics, and three psychosocial care centers.

GHC pursues excellence in providing healthcare to the population as we supply state-run health services given that we are connected to the Ministry of Health and are totally dedicated to users of Sistema Único de Saúde – SUS (the public healthcare system). SUS was created in 1988 by the Brazilian Federal Constitution and today is considered one of the largest public healthcare systems in the world. It is an unparalleled social project that materializes by means of actions that foster healthy living, prevent diseases, and provide healthcare to Brazilians in an egalitarian manner.

ArcelorMittal Foundation, Brazil

Executive Summary / Abstract

ArcelorMittal Foundation (AMF) is an organization created to carry out ArcelorMittal’s private social investment actions, for the sake of those communities wherein the Company has industrial units. The Foundation develops its activities in 48 municipalities, through 14 social programs in the fields of education, health, environment and culture. As a result of its BPM initiative, within the cultural field, 100 percent of their project proposals can be submitted and evaluated via electronic forms. This represents an increase of 50 percent in the number of project responses. Also, a 50 percent reduction in the time to evaluate each proposal was achieved. As a result of this BPM initiative, which included a tightly integrated SOA environment, a new and improved AMF system was launched called the “CTRL Cultura” system.
