The first round of the paper process is wrapping up and there is an interesting set of trends visible in AI, Automation, Decision Management, Advanced BPMN, and Rapid App Development. What would you most like to see at next year’s event? BTW - for reference you can see everything from the last 5 years at http://www.bpmnext.com!

First and foremost - you, Peter!

Secondly, the "shy" vendors that lead the quadrants yet not the show :)

Dear Santa,

Could you arrange, please, an objective analysis of challenges in front of the BPM industry and, if possible, how to address them.

Thanks,

Fantastic list of topics! Seriously! Suggestion: Consider the business of business analysis in the context of business process technology. Between domain use cases and process business cases there is "realization". Process automation realization starts with process technology artefacts; it's also the realm of model/executable round-tripping, domain patterns, partner expertise, Volker Stiehl's segregation/contract model, software and API economics, business analyst learning, skills and career paths, and pressure on executive involvement for rapid development. It's where technology meets capability meets governance. BPM has a terrific sales pitch but the reality of deployment can be improved. For sure, BPM world is improving in all these dimensions; it can go faster with focus on the people side. Such "people focus" should not be mere feel-good fluff, but could be very specific to requirements, comparable to how accounting skills, best practices and governance are essential for the accounting function and overall business governance.

Maybe time for clarity on what a Platform Software which supports BPM really needs and linked the explanation of expectations for no code and low code?

in 2018 BPM will matter more than ever. The world is on fire talking about digital transformation. It’s important to understand what that really means, and where the real value lies. Meaningful, high-value transformation is not about doing the same old stuff, just faster or getting some of it done on a mobile device.
